The workflow: RDT, WDT and puck prep

  • Weigh in, weigh out. Weigh your dose of beans before grinding (say 18g), then weigh the ground coffee after. Because retention is near zero, the two numbers should almost match — that's your proof the grinder is doing its job, and the basis for repeating a good shot exactly.
