Coffee Machines

Coffee machines, grinders and matched packages in one place. The range runs from single boiler espresso machines and heat exchangers through to dual boilers, traditional levers and fully automatic bean-to-cup machines. Filter by type below, or read on if you are still working out which one suits the way you drink coffee.

The manual espresso machines are grouped by boiler, because that is the decision that shapes everything else. A single boiler brews and steams one after the other and is the least expensive way into real espresso. A heat exchanger does both at once from one boiler, which makes the morning routine quicker. A dual boiler runs separate brew and steam boilers, so brew temperature can be set exactly. Lever machines swap the pump for a spring or your own arm, and reward anyone who enjoys the process.

Not everyone wants that, and this page covers the alternatives too. Fully automatic bean-to-cup machines grind, brew and froth at the touch of a button — the right answer when convenience matters more than control, or for a workplace. Espresso grinders sit on this page as well, because a machine is only ever as good as the grinder feeding it, and machine and grinder packages pair the two for less than buying them separately.

We stock and service Bezzera, ECM, Profitec, Rancilio, Lelit and Rocket — brands built to be repaired rather than replaced, which is exactly why we sell them. Shop by brand: Bezzera, ECM, Profitec, Rancilio, Lelit, Rocket and Quick Mill. We import Bezzera ourselves, so parts and warranty support for those machines come straight from us. Everything here can be serviced in our own Brisbane workshop, and we take on repairs for all brands.

Not sure where to start? Tell us how you drink your coffee and we will shortlist two or three — get in touch, or come and see them at our Woolloongabba showroom, where you can compare size, finish and build quality side by side. If this is a first setup, budget for the parts that make it work: a proper tamper, a milk jug and a knock bin.

Then keep it running. The right water filtration is the single best way to prevent scale, and our add-ons and upgrades and cleaning supplies cover the rest of the routine.

Frequently asked questions

What type of coffee machine is best for home?

It depends on how much control you want. A fully automatic bean-to-cup machine makes espresso, coffee and milk drinks at the touch of a button, which is ideal if convenience matters most. A manual espresso machine gives you full control over the shot and is where most home baristas end up. Lever machines sit at the far end of that scale — the most hands-on, and the most rewarding if you enjoy the process. Tell us how you drink your coffee and we will match a machine to it.

What is the difference between an espresso machine and a bean-to-cup machine?

An espresso machine gives you manual control — you grind, dose, tamp and pull each shot yourself, which lets you fine-tune quality but takes practice. A bean-to-cup machine grinds and brews automatically at the push of a button, trading some of that control for convenience. Serious home baristas usually prefer a manual machine and a separate grinder; households that want good coffee fast often prefer bean-to-cup.

Do I need a separate grinder?

Yes, and it matters more than most people expect. Espresso needs a finer and more consistent grind than any other brewing method, and a separate grinder keeps boiler heat away from the burrs. If the budget is tight, buy small amounts of freshly ground coffee from a local roaster until you can add one. Our machine and grinder packages are the cheapest route to a matched pair.

How much should I spend on a coffee machine?

A solid entry-level prosumer machine starts around $1,300 to $2,300. Most people land in the $2,500 to $4,500 range, where build quality, features and longevity balance out best, and premium dual boilers run from $3,500 up. Budget for a grinder on top — a good machine fed by a poor grinder will not make good coffee. Our prosumer espresso machine buying guide breaks the tiers down with specific models.

What warranty and servicing do you provide?

Every new machine comes with the manufacturer’s warranty, typically one to two years depending on the brand, and we handle claims directly. Call us and we will arrange a time to bring the machine to our Woolloongabba workshop, then manage the process with the manufacturer from there. For daily home use we recommend a professional service every 12 to 18 months, or every six months if the machine is left on all day. See our fixed-price servicing for what that covers.

Not sure which one? That’s what we’re for.

Tell us how much coffee you pull and how hands-on you want to be. We’ll shortlist two or three, and explain the trade-offs honestly.
