Baratza Encore ESP Coffee Grinder

The Baratza Encore ESP is an espresso-optimised conical burr grinder with a dual-range adjustment system that splits 40 grind settings into a fine espresso micro-range and a coarser filter macro-range. About this machine

What it's actually like to live with.

  • Dual-Range Adjustment System — Settings 1–20 deliver micro-adjustments (~20 microns per click) for precise espresso dial-in; settings 21–40 make broader macro jumps to cover filter, pour-over, and French press brewing.
  • 40 mm M2 Conical Burrs—European-manufactured hardened steel burrs produce a consistent grind from very fine to very coarse and are built to stay sharp across years of daily home use.
  • Hopper-Twist Grind Adjustment — A single-handed twist of the bean hopper moves between grind settings with no separate dial or lever, simplifying the adjustment workflow.
  • Quick-Release Burr System — The top burr lifts out tool-free for fast cleaning or clearing blockages, removing a common frustration with entry-level grinders.
  • Anti-Static Dosing Cup Included — The low-static dosing cup fits 54mm portafilters straight out of the box; a 58mm adapter ring is included for wider portafilters, allowing direct no-mess dosing.
  • High-Torque DC Motor at 550 RPM—The slow-speed motor reduces heat transfer to grounds, runs quietly, and includes an automatic thermal cutout to prevent overheating during extended use.
  • Front-Mounted Pulse Button — Enables quick single-dose grinding without switching the machine on and off; the side ON/OFF switch handles continuous grinding for larger batches.
  • User-Calibratable Burr System—An innovative calibration design ensures the full grind range is available from the factory and can be re-calibrated at home if needed, with no service required.
  • Grounds Bin and Dosing Cup Dual-Mode—Switch between the 120g grounds bin for filter brewing and the dosing cup for espresso, giving genuine multi-method capability from a single machine.

Why buy it here

Every machine we sell, we also service.

Most retailers sell you a box and wave goodbye. This one goes home with a workshop behind it — wear parts stocked in-house, technicians who know this machine, and a national network of agents if you're not in Brisbane.
